Linear heat sensing ( digital & analogue)-LHS

Linear heat detection systems, both digital and analog, offer continuous heat sensing along a cable, triggering alarms upon detection of excessive temperatures. Digital systems utilize a fixed-temperature, non-resettable cable where a polymer insulation melts at a specific temperature, while analog systems use a cable where the resistance of a polymer insulation changes with temperature, providing a continuously variable indication. This is an integral part of Fire Detection & Alarm System. Recommend by NFPA 70 & 72, NEC 760 (National Electric Code) IS 2189, BS 5839, and Eurofyre standards, focusing on installation, performance, and maintenance.
Digital Linear Heat Detection-LHSD

 

  • Operation: The cable contains two conductors separated by a heat-sensitive polymer insulation. When the polymer melts at a predetermined temperature, the conductors make contact, triggering an alarm.
  • Resettable: Non-resettable, meaning the cable cannot be restored to its original state after activation.
  • Application: LHS cables are ideal for areas with high dust, extreme temperatures, or where a fixed position is not possible or desirable.

 Analogue Linear Heat Detection

 

  • Operation: The cable consists of two conductors separated by a polymer whose resistance changes with temperature detect by the Analogue LHSD Host Controller. Hence user has choice to set alarm temperature as per requirement.
  • Resettable: The system is generally resettable, meaning the cable can be returned to its original condition after a fire event.
  • Application: Ideal for areas where monitoring temperature changes and potential hotspots are important.
