Notifier Control Module FCM-1

Core Function:

  • The FCM-1 is designed to provide a supervised control output for notification appliance circuits (NACs) or other auxiliary control functions. Essentially, it allows the fire alarm control panel to remotely switch and monitor the operation of external devices.

Key Features:

  • Addressability:
    • As an addressable module, it communicates with the fire alarm control panel over the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). This allows for precise control and monitoring of individual circuits.
  • Supervised Control:
    • A crucial feature is its ability to supervise the wiring connected to the controlled devices. This means it can detect and report faults like open circuits or short circuits.
  • Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) Control:
    • A primary application is to control NACs, which power audible and visual alarm devices like horns and strobes.
  • Auxiliary Control:
    • It can also be used for other control functions, such as releasing door holders, controlling dampers, or activating other building systems.
  • Compatibility:
    • It’s designed to integrate seamlessly with Notifier’s intelligent fire alarm control panels.
  • LED Indication:
    • An onboard LED provides visual status indication, helping with troubleshooting.
  • Wiring Flexibility:
    • It is designed to be able to be wired in class A, or class B wiring configurations.

In essence:

  • The Notifier FCM-1 provides a reliable and flexible way to control and monitor external devices within a Notifier fire alarm system, enhancing the system’s overall functionality and safety.
